Easing into 2026
I’ve finally snapped out of the holiday haze. I’m very much aware it is February but man I was really struggling. I ate a lot, drank a lot and gained some weight. I think I’ve gained 10lbs from November all the way to the end of January. It’s a lot of weight but I am determined to lose it. Determined to get back to who I am. Over the last five years I went from 135lbs to 175lbs and have not been able to get it off. I know everyone says the same bullshit lol New Year New Me - blahhh blahhh blahhh!! However, I have been very consistent with changes on losing weight and I will share what works vs what does not work.
Right now I’m being consistent and although I have not seen MAJOR weight loss yet. I have seen fat mass loss from 40% to 38% and that is with minimal workout - just eating better and I’ve also stopped drinking. Now I am working out 3 days a week and will slowly work my way up to 4 and maybe even 5. I did start with 1 day a week and now I’m up to three and I am very proud of myself actually!
Before the new year started I did take a step back and evaluated what worked for me and what did not. Specifically, what gave me anxiety and caused me to not be fully present. I noticed that my Apple Watch gave me a lot of anxiety because I was never off. The phone was never quiet and I was not able to be fully present. However, I did want to track my steps and my sleep so I replaced it with Oura. For now it’s working for me. The only thing is that it’s not tracking my activity so if anyone wanted to run a 5k with advanced metrics the oura is NOT for you. However, if you are looking for a device that fades into the background in your everyday and tracks your sleep, steps, activity (limited), your cycle, and additional biometrics. This is for you! It works for me because I am trying to be more present and live in the moment without distractions - and the Oura is working for that!
